Funerals

Through its parish system and territorial ministry the Church of Scotland seeks to serve all the people of Scotland and not just the membership of the Church. Nobody in the situation of bereavement should hesitate to seek the services of the parish minister, either directly or through the undertaker.

Unlike some organisations charging a lot of money for these services, the church doesn’t charge a fee for the services of the minister or the use of the building for the service. (The undertaker is responsible for providing an organist, as we don’t have one at the moment.) Any donations given to the church are welcome, but not required. (There may be copyright costs involved if you want to video record the ceremony.)

If you would like to discuss funeral arrangements or any other related issues (such as ceremonies of remembrance or marking a miscarriage), please contact the minister by clicking here!
